The Elmhurst Police Department in cooperation with the Elmhurst’s Citizen’s Police Academy is offering Sidewalk Sammy which is an eye-catching figure that will send the message to motorist to SLOW DOWN!  You may request to have a Sidewalk Sammy figure to display in your neighborhood for a period of two weeks!

By only putting Sidewalk Sammy out when the children are present, motorists will take it seriously each and every time.  Just fill the base with water and place at the end of your driveway, on your parkway, or near your children’s play area.  Sammy stands 32" high and includes a 39" red warning flag and large "SLOW" sticker.  The red belt is reflective and is visible during twilight hours. If you would like to request to have a Sidewalk Sammy to display in your neighborhood, please fill out the information below.  You may then drop it off at, or mail it to, either City Hall or the Elmhurst Police Department.

You may request to have a Sidewalk Sammy to display in your neighborhood during the following dates.  After your dates are assigned, you will receive a written confirmation as well as a follow-up phone call to arrange a specific time for Sidewalk Sammy to be dropped off at your residence.
